2017 Rally Information
Your hosts and co-hosts are really excited about the DRVC spring rally at Distant Drums RV Resort at Camp Verde, Arizona. Response has been so positive that we’ve added an addition five spaces bringing the number of total sites to 35. The response to the Arizona is exciting and greatly appreciated.
The rally will be held in the Sedona Verde Valley area Feb- ruary 26 to March 3, 2017 at Distant Drums RV Resort. Awaiting attendees are five nights of camping, four hot breakfasts, three catered dinners plus one continental breakfast. There will be three days of technical seminars, ladies craft sessions, lifestyle presentations and an owner roundtable. If you’re a bowler or a want-to-be, there’s an afternoon of bowling scheduled at a nearby location. You also won’t want to miss the review of local history and local cultural entertainment to be presented early in the rally program.
Check in is after 1 PM on Sunday afternoon, February 26. Check out will be before 11 PM on Friday, March 3. There is a fee for checking in early or checking out late so make plans accordingly. If an extended stay is desired, please contact the campground directly at 928-554-8000 by telephone or info@ddrvresort.com by email. Be sure to mention if you have registered for and will be attending the rally.
On your free day, there are oddles of things to choose from. You may have a hard time choosing one.
In regards to local things to do or see, consider putting one of the following on your list.
• Palatki Heritage Site. (West of Sedona and with about 10 miles of dirt road. Need to have a reser- vation as there isn’t a lot of parking. One of the couples that gives tours there were our wagon mas- ters on our trip to Alaska. They are awesome. Check it out on the internet and maybe include a picture of the ruins. There’s no charge and it’s definitely worth the drive. I will have brochures at the rally for this)
• Cottonwood has an oldtown main street with several tasting rooms and other local wineries.
• Jerome is an old time mining town and a great place to visit.
• Sedona is famous for its red rocks and has a lot to do and see including jeep tours.
• Clarkdale has a four hour railroad journey travel-
ing to and from the Perkinsville Ghost Ranch. View archeology, geography, wildlife and Indian lore that is Verde Canyon.
The 2017 summer rally will be at Pla-More Campground near Bremen, Indiana. It is in Elkhart County, the RV center of the nation, and the heart of Amish Country as well. Dates are July 2-7, 2017. Brochures on the summer event should be available at the Arizona Rally or watch the DRVC web site.
