                                                                                           Verde Canyon Railroad’s excursion train, pulled by two Electro-Motive FP7 Diesel-electric locomotives , winds it way on a four-hour trip. Verde Canyon, featuring an abundance of native flora and fauna, rugged, high-desert rock faces and spectacular vistas, is only accessible by rail. As you step aboard this popular excursion, complete with luxurious coaches and open-air viewing cars pulled by 1953-vintage engines, expect to be captivated by this untouched and unspoiled canyon.
By the time many readers receive this edition of Travelore, Diesel RV Club’s Valley Rally will be full swing. This will be the second rally held at Distant Drums RV Resort in Camp Verde, Arizona. Camp Verde, which is near the geographi- cal center of the state and is an easy drive south of both Flagstaff and Sedona.
Following the DRVC rally will be FMCA’s 101st Inter- national Convention and RV Expo to be held in Tucson, Arizona, March 26 through 29. As always, attendees can look forward to quality entertainment, a wide range of seminars, and socializing with like-minded RVers from all across the US and Canada.
Verde Valley and Tucson, as a destination, provides a full spectrum of opportunities. Those attending should plan on taking
in some of the
attractions and
sights available
to the traveling
public.
