Final Charge in a Cat C7....anyone?
« on: September 26, 2018, 07:50:16 PM »
I purchased a 2007 Safari with a C7.  6 years ago the prior owner had Cat ELC installed as coolant.  I know it is great stuff but have used Final Charge ELC in other brands with equal success...and it is half the cost and has a reported 8 year useful life.  Does anyone have any first (or second hand) knowledge on how this would work in a C7?

Tregaskis, to answer your question, many different options in coolant for motorhomes.
Yes you can go with the high dollar antifreezes that lay claim for better cooling results
but on the other hand the less costly green antifreeze will cool your engine trouble free
also and in many cases I found motorhomes bought and shipped on older models have green less costly antifreeze in there system. It is my suggestion to change out coolant and
temperature regulators every 2 to 3 years. What cools your engine is a clean radiator and
charged air cooler ( coolant is a owners choice ) but maintenance of cooling system keeping
a clean air flow, fan belts in good condition, temperature regulator change often as per
maintance every 2 & 3 years.
