c7 Engine removal

Does anyone know how long it takes to remove a Cat C7 motor from 40 phaeton..

I am sure it depends on the experience level of whoever is doing it and what equipment they have to do it with, but I would expect most shops will charge you a minimum of $5K to double that for the R&R, just for the labor.  Any parts extra.  Any work on it once out extra.

Dave called me back.  Says he just got off the phone with you.  Glad you called him.  Dave knows his stuff.  He is not the kind of person to throw parts at a problem hoping it is the fix.  He gets to the root cause of the problem by trouble shooting and thus knows what will fix it. 

Please summarize what the problem was that caused your original question, and report back on any further issues in getting it fixed without removing the engine.  Dave asked you to have the shop do an oil analysis to confirm his suspicions that a CAT reman head should cure the issue, but for sure report what the results are so you get the best results out of being in this situation.
